As part of the ongoing Crossrail project, Farringdon Station is undergoing a major development to increase capacity, improve accessibility and upgrade interchanges. It will also be one of ten new stations that will serve the Elizabeth Line when it opens in 2018. Cordek were tasked with providing a formwork solution to enable the main contractor to cast the ‘knuckle’ intersections between the escalator shaft and the levels above and below.

Cordek were pleased to exhibit at this year’s Evolving Concrete Exhibition held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Staium, Reading on the 28th September 2017. Organised by The Concrete Society, this one day technical seminar under the theme of ‘Forming our Future’ included industry experts speaking on a selection of diverse topics relating to the design and use of concrete in construction. On the 4th of June 2017, 13 of the ladies from the Cordek team took part in the Horsham 5k Race for Life to raise money for Cancer Research. This is a cause that has become very close to our hearts following the loss of a colleague’s mum who lost her battle against cancer earlier this year. The day was a great success and the team have managed to raise a massive £3050! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped with the day!
